Infrared or "IrDA Data Protocol" defines a standard
for an interoperable universal two way cordless infrared light transmission data
port. IrDA technology is already in over 100 million electronic devices
including desktop, notebook, palm PCs, printers, digital cameras, public
phones/kiosks, cellular phones, pagers, PDAs, electronic books, electronic
wallets, and other mobile devices. IrDA Data is recommended for high speed
short range, line of sight, point-to-point cordless data transfer.
