Description
Narrowband PCS
The ReFLEX50 protocol combines four, 12.5 kHz forward FLEX channels (one
master and three slave channels) to offer an aggregate data rate of 25.6
kbps on the forward channel.
The ReFLEX25 protocol on the forward 50 kHz channel allows two RF
carriers transmitting at 250 Watts out of the base stations. This ReFLEX25
design is more robust than the ReFLEX50 as it allows guard bands between
the carriers – but at the sacrifice of capacity and speed.
The reverse channels in ReFLEX25 and ReFLEX50 are identical. They can
range in speed from 800 bps to 9600 bps. The speed on the reverse channels
is a function of the number of receivers deployed in each transmitter's
coverage area.
