Description
Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites circle the globe at about 400
nautical miles providing clear voice and data messaging capability.
LEO satellite communications is valuable wherever global monitoring,
tracking, remote switching and two-way data communications is
needed. Not stationary in SKY like GEO Each ORBCOMM LEO
communications satellite weighs about 90 pounds, is 170 inches long, 88
inches wide (at solar arrays), and uses a 14 volt power system. The
satellites transmit 4800bps subscriber downlink at 137.00 - 138.00 MHz,
and receive 2400 bps subscriber uplink at 148.00-150.05 MHz
