Description
1xRTT, developed by Qualcomm, stands for single carrier, radio
transmission technology and is commonly referred to as CDMA2000.
1xRTT is the 3G technology based on the CDMA platform. 1xRTT when
completed will provide ISDN like speeds of up to 144Kbps. Future plans for
further upgrades to 3xRTT are already in the works. 3xRTT will
ratchet up to broadband like speeds by mid 2003. 1xRTT like CDMA requires lower power
output, which extends the life of the battery.
