Palatine’s eAccess Solutions blossoms with BlackBerry sales

Daily Herald, Chicago

When it comes to technology, Palatine business owner David Bean is way ahead of the crowd.

He started using a BlackBerry about eight years ago, before many people even knew what they were. He has now formed a partnership with Research in Motion Limited, maker of the BlackBerry, and is the number one volume dealer for that company, Bean said.

Bean is founder and president of eAccess Solutions Inc., a 5-year old wireless data solutions provider. The mission of his business, at 407 N. Quentin Road, is to enable companies to boost productivity by providing customized, integrated solutions through wireless data and mobile computing.

His main focus is selling business to business. He said he supplies wireless data devices, services and consulting expertise to 53 percent of the Fortune 100 companies as well as a wide array of corporations, government, educational institutions and small businesses.

The company has strong sales on the Web and has done work with the White House and many celebrities. He has seen a minimum of 200 percent growth per year.

Bean, 39, said his 20-employee firm takes more of a consulting approach in dealing with customers. He said he looks for the best coverage, best cost, best product and then provides support once it’s all in place. He’s a fully authorized dealer and activator for T-Mobile, Cingular/AT&T Wireless, Verizon Wireless, Nextel and Sprint.

Originally from New Jersey, Bean moved to Palatine when he was in third grade. He and his wife, Jennifer, are now raising their children, Kyle, 7, and Lauren, 2, in Palatine.

Prior to launching the company, he was vice president of sales for Kissane Business Systems, a Chicago-based technology firm focused on network infrastructure consulting and architecture.

Bean is a recognized leader in wireless data solutions and has been a featured speaker at events around the country. He was an Ernst and Young LLP Entrepreneur of the Year finalist for 2005 and 2006.
